My son is getting married in December of this year. I would love to make them a wall hanging made from a photo of the two of them. The problem is I can't seem to find a conversion program that would give me colors for either a gray scale or a sepia. I have the link for the Victoria & Albert site but it doesn't seem to like the size of the file. I have looked at the needlepoint programs but they all seem to cost over $75. I was looking for something a little less spendy. Does anybody have any suggestions? Appreciate any suggestions.

This is how I might cheat. I may print the photo in b/w or sepia at CVS or Target or another store. Then scan it into the computer... it may be a roundabout way of doing it but cheaper than purchasing a program if you are only doing this once. you can also display the printed pix in a frame at the reception.

I just checked in Microsoft Publisher - you can insert a color picture, make sure you select the picture and you can change the picture to gray scale. You can also use Microsoft PowerPoint. Insert your picture, look for "Recolor" on the left, and you can change to either gray scale or sepia.

I used the photo gallery on Windows and managed to make it grey scale but couldn't get the next step, the division of color into blocks. Granted the needlepoint programs do it but again as you said, Hopetoquilt, if I am only going to do it once.

Try this site!
http://www.vam.ac.uk/microsites/quilts/patchwork

Upload your image, it gets transformed into a mosaic.

I think I misunderstood
I did not understand if you are wanting just a picture or are you wanting to do like a moziac(sp). If you just want a picture on fabric I went to office depot and they used their display that had a tray feed to print . the problem I had was my copier had agravity feed and it made the picture curl more
