I have the opportunity to buy a featheweight machine ( serial number AK995827 ) in almost mint condition. It comes with the original black case, a set of 2 keys to lock the case, the original instruction book for the machine, 7 attachments in the original box, a 4 piece set of set of buttonhole templates and a funny looking screwdriver.

The machine is a shiney black with a gold emblem on the lower right side of the front that reads the Singer Mfg Co. There is also a row of gold decals around the top surface of the base and gold decals on the wheel on the right side of the machine. The machine has recently been serviced and the seller guarentees it to work.

What price range can I expect a machine of this quilty to be in? It is being sold as part of an estate sale. Please advise. Thanks, Betty

The average price is close to $300.00 in my area. Some go as high as $500.00, but with the economy the way it is now that is high as far as I am concerned.

I doubt that an estate sale would be cheaper unless it's not professionally run.
    I would say 250-300.

Betty, if you get it be sure to post pics!! :D

Look on E-bay. They're $600-1200 for a machine of that quality which is way too high in MHO. A $250-300 price would be very fair in todays market.
