Your quilt is sooo pretty, I just adore it. I have long wanted to make a blue/yellow quilt and I just may have to get started soon! I too have to keep my precious quilts in bags, unless they are hanging on the wall. With 4 cats a quilt isn't safe in my house!!

It turned out really beautiful - I'm sure they'll love it. And if they see the pic with that beautiful kitty, they'll probably want it, too. What a beauty!

    Absolutely gorgeous!
A dog is not "almost human" and I know of no greater insult to the canine race than to describe it as such.

Thanks so much for the compliments – on the quilt AND the cat!

I can’t take credit for the color combo though since I used fabrics from a single collection, except for the backing. The fabric was from the “By the Sea” collection from Marcus Fabrics. Helen Weinman is the designer. She has a shop on Cape Cod so we had a nice day visiting the Cape and shopping.

Regarding the pattern: no, I didn’t have a pattern. I searched for ages for a pattern that would let me use the fussy cut motifs and saw lots of ideas. I ended up making this in EQ6. I have the details in an Excel file. If you'd like it, PM me with an email address.

    Thanks again!

I have enjoyed making this - it's for my husband's elderly aunt and cousin. The label includes my DH's name since he helped every step of the way except for the sewing.

As for the last picture: As I went to return the quilt to its protective bag to keep cat hair off of it, I said to DH, "I hope there's not a cat in the bag!" Oh well...
    Great job!!
