need help finding outline applique technique

need help finding outline applique technique

I saw this on the board but can't find. It was outlined using a freemotion black outline of applique pieces...sort of messy outline.
Like a child's scribble sort of.
If you know the blog link or what I am talking about I would love to find it again.

Are you thinking of the Diploma quilts by grammatjr?

I haven't seen this on the board, but are you looking for the technique called "Herky Jerky Applique"? It is a free motion technique. The stitching looks like an irregular zig-zag. Some years ago, there were some books about this technique.

Oh, yeah. Now that you mention it, I remember that from years ago - maybe that's what the OP was looking for.

This is one of the looks I was looking for but there was another site that used the black thread and free motion but more in line than the loops.
