Are you doing a french seam? Is this a regular pillow case or are you covering a pillow for the couch?

Here's a good tutorial on how to make French Seams. http://www.sewneau.com/how.to/french.seam.html It always feels really odd to sew that first seam with the wrong sides together, but the end result is great! :-)

Did that answer your question?

Yes you will see the seam on the outside until you turn it and sew again.

Which way do you press the french seam on the side to make the bottom corner square?

I made a pillow case with using the French seam method.
No problem on the first steps where you sew the border and trim on...I even matched up the trim and border perfectly.
I sewed the side seam, turned it inside out and enclosed the seam using the French seam method. All's well at this point...easy enough just repeat the process for the bottom seam, right?
No problem when I sewed the first seam on the bottom....until I turned the case inside out and tried to get the corner (the side with the french seam) straightened out so I could do the last seam.
