Pine Pitch on Quilt
#1
A friend of mine was demonstrating hand quilting at a Pioneer Arts Fair when a pine cone fell out of a tree unto her colorful quilt leaving a very noticeable smear of pine pitch. Does anyone have a suggestion for getting the pine pitch off the quit???

Use THORO. It's made by Thoro products. It's in a 8 fl oz bottle in the laundry section of grocery stores. It takes road tar out of carpet, all badness out of anything, stink off S*#T. If you can't find any, let me know and I'll buy some and mail it. Goo-Gone is good, but it leaves a slight oily residue. Sara

I use peanut butter to get pitch off of skin, hair and clothes. With clothes I immediately rinse it with warm water and then treat it with straight laundry soap to get the little oil from the peanut butter out. Peanut butter does not usually leave a stain on clothes, so I do not think it would leave a stain on a cotton quilt.
