Funny how this was mentioned in another thread this morning. I saw fusible fleece yesterday at Walmart and wondered what it would be used for and now I know.

Which brings me to what I want to say. I'm in the process of making many Christmas gift bags for school age kids and finally found an easy pattern online last night and was considering using some of my Warm and Natural batting to give it some padding but now I think I will go buy some of this fusible fleece instead.

Actually I was considering making Christmas stocking for the kids since I ordered the Accuquilt Studio die to make such and probably still will for some of them such as my grandkids closest school friends and for the ladies in the two quilt guilds I belong to.

As I recall I think it was in a roll at Walmart but don't remember for sure. I think I will do a search online to see if it is sold in a roll like the warm and natural is or heat n bond and such. I probably would want more than what Walmart sells.

You will find there are several brands of fusible fleece. You might want to order a sample first if purchasing online. Pellon fusible fleece is OK but I like marathon fusible fleece as it drapes better. But for stockings, draping would not be an issue.

I like the Pellon fleece for bags, placemats, tablerunners so I think it would be fine for stockings. Don't want drape in those items so I would recommend it fo your projects. My son lives in Savannah but can't remember if there's a Joanns in the coastal area? If so I get it there when it's 50% off then use my teacher discount. Would think that would beat Walmart price. Ours here don't carry fabric so I can't compare. Good hunting!

Which ever fusible fleece you use, be sure to read the directions and follow them.
