Aggi thank you so much for posting your photo of the lily and the drawing. i am a beginner quilter and wish to be an art quilter but never know where to start. i wish we had classes here like the ones you are going to do as i would love to learn more. It would be so great if you could post step by step what you do so maybe then i can get the courage up to start one myself. I read what i can on the subject but still arent quite sure how to go about all the steps. Nature inspires me and here in Australia we have so many different kinds of flowers that would look lovely in fabric....

I too would like to see the progress as you go>
Tricky!!
I am always up for a challenge!!! This is my first time doing this type of quilting, so in one sense I am a beginner too at landscape and florals. I have also been sketching since I was 12!! I"m now 35 (36 in a couple days). So sketching and such comes natural to me now! :)

I believe if you want to do something and you put everything you got into it, you will do it too!!! I am teaching this morning (leaving in about 15 minutes) but hope to get back at the flower this afternoon. We are going to have a snow storm here today (possibly up to 30cm) so I'll be housebound today!! Snow Day means Snow Day!! :)

I registered for a landscape class come June at one of our quilt shops just outside the city. Its a full day class and I can't WAIT!!! Tricky when it comes to quilting/sewing, I'm up to trying ANYTHING!!! NEVER stop learning is my motto!!

Well I have to get my class lesson plan and other things packed and off to class!! I'lll be back after lunch to check this board again!!

Cheers!

This flower class is not being offered here in St. John's. I'm doing this course online through Quilt University.com If this is something you want to do DO IT!!!
I promise to keep adding photos!!!

Hi Aggi -I have been looking at the Quilt University site - very interesting. How do the classes work. Do you have to be on line at a certain time or can you set your own agenda?

Hi English Rose.

The classes in the Quilt University are going on all the time. Once you register for a course you can go into your password protected area of your classroom anytime to chat with other students and your instructor on a mesage board similar to this. YOu can also post your project in progress in the gallery and you will have a specific space in the gallery for your work. Depending on the length and type of class, you will probably get a lesson a week that you can print off and work from. The prices of the courses are not too bad. This course cost me I believe $40 USD. So far its been worth every penny!!
