I like the red print the best but I think it needs some bling for the holidays. I would add beads and sequins to it and some gold thread applique stitching around the center red piece. Or put gold metallic rick rack showing just its points around the red center.

I like the red too. It makes it part of the plate design. The others seem to take away from it more than add to it.

I like the gold one. If you squint it will give you a better idea, and the red one really makes the red petals jump out.

Oh I like that idea, JanRN!!
A good solid black!!

What about black velvet?
Or maybe even a black with a bit of metallic gold in it. I have two I'm thinking of ... one has like paint speckles on it, the other is kind of like cracked egg shells.

Though, those may take away from it, and the plain solid may be much better.

And that may not be right ... and a good solid black

I would consider doing the sashing and centers the same fabric. I like the red but would think about a green or maybe a black. Look forward to seeing your finished choices.

When I saw the pictures, the first thing that came to mind was black. I do like the black/red combo also. I love the colors of the Dresden plate.

Oops, doubled up. I seems that I need to double click quite a few times for the replies to work.
Sorry about that.
