Default Pocket of Tonals pattern help

When I stitch squares to the sashing, the points are cut off, what did I do wrong with piecing the rectangles and flying geese piece? I would appreciate any suggestions.

If you are able to post a picture, it would help us see what you are doing.

when you square up your block make sure you have 1/4" fabric from top of the point of the geese. measure from the point to make sure you have the amount od seam you need.

I found this tutorial posted by one of out members. I have always done it this way. No special gadgets needed. Hope it helps!

Check your seam allowances to see if they are wider than 1/4 inch. Make sure you are cutting the original sizes for the pattern. Check the ruler lines to make sure you aren't short cutting them.

What thread do you use for piecing? It can make a difference too. Finally, check the pressing of seams to make sure there isn't lost fabric in a fold along the way.

PS: I sometimes cutpieces a titch over the pattern size and then square up or trim as needed. Good luck!

Look at Kitsie's post. If you have only sewn the cornerstone on the sashing, but not yet on the block, you should still have your point if you sew the required 1/4" seam. This is assuming you are talking about the two side points and not the single top point.
