Default Need Help With How To Quilt Parts Of This Panel

I bought a kit a while back from my LQS to turn this panel into a lap quilt. I did and now I'm to the quilting part and I'm stuck. It's hard to tell in this picture, but each acorn, leaf house, pumpkin and so on is outlined with black. I went over all the black outlines in this panel with black thread to make the designs pop, but now, I'm not sure how to quilt the grass! I was thinking of stippling the cream sky, but I just don't think that would look as nice if I did stippling in the grass area, too. Any thoughts?

I would follow the dark/light wavy pattern of the grass and do wavy lines. Leah Day has several examples of wavy lines (most to depict water) but I think they'll work in this pattern for the grass as it will mimic the print.

I agree with the wavy lines. It would be a different texture from the sky, same as in real life.

I love that idea! I looked her up on YouTube and fell in love with the idea for the grass. What do you think about the sky? I'm just not sure about the stippling in the sky, but to do the wavy lines in and around all those tree branches might not look right. What do you think about that?

That's a neat idea. I'll see if I can find an example on YouTube. Thanks!

I did up some samples. I'm thinking of putting the bottom stitching on the green for the grass, but wasn't sure what to do for the sky. It's streaked horizontally like the grass is, but wasn't sure what to do for the sky/wind scene.

Wow, ya took some ideas & ran w/'em. I love your grass. As far as your wind goes, I really like your center design. It's not my quilt, so which one do you like?

I like the middle design for the wind too, and *love* the grass!

Well, the grass came out great, but the sky doesn't seem to lend itself to that pattern. No matter how many times I tried, it just isn't fitting well, because of all the tiny spaces and thin areas to quilt in. Even traditional stippling doesn't seem to really feel right, now. Then, I remembered I have this stencil for stippling water scenes. It's an all over pattern, but if I just mark in the areas I want to do it, I think it will come out nice. Also, since it's a stippling pattern, it doesn't matter if parts of it are obscured and cut off when I come to the tiny sections around the branches.
