Let us face it, we all hate change. BUT learning something new is what keeps us young. You do not toss a new quilt pattern right away because it uses techniques you have never encountered before, do you? No, you rise to the challenge.

I too find it confusing, but it is new and it takes time. I did find the archives helpful. I like the list format much better. I will be using that. I am not going to give up. I love this forum and all the wonderful people on it. I am sure that when all your questions are answered you will like it too.

I just need to find out how to bookmark a thread. Then I will be happy.

Default Positive Remarks

Change is never easy. This one is big, but I always try to see the positive side of things. So here goes-
#1 calendar,
#2 albums.
#3 that you can hover over these features - paper clip/attachments- click and see pic without having to open post.
#4 hover over envelope - able to see the gist of the post without having to open.
#5 able to see when someone is on the board. There are more things that are great, I just have to remember how I found them and get back to them. Anyone else found positive things about our beloved boards new facelift?

Well there are six things, lol. I like that we can add tags to our post.

WoW...you have discovered all sorts of details about this new board that I have not even noticed. Yesterday when I peeked, I was very discouraged and did not think I could get this. Today, with no distractions and a good cup of coffee...I am searching, learning and not doing to badly. The one thing I really miss and have not found is the unread section that I loved about the old board. Oh well, I do like the way the new board is organized.

Default the new QB - some members are unhappy, and...

I see some people are leaving - shame on them! We haven't really given this a chance yet! You won't find anything better out there. I know becuase yesterday, while the QB was down, I wandered looking for something else to read, and found several chat groups - and NONE of them compare at all to what we have here on the QB.

Yes, I have been a little thrown by the changes, but I know with a little searching I can probably find all that was on here before, and maybe a few new things too!

I think we should all appreciate the hard work that the Administrators do everyday, to make it a place that is enjoyable and informative for us all. I am sure that the changes took alot longer than the few hours the QB was down. There were probably hundreds of hours prep before the implementation.

There was probably reasons that the changes were made. Often when there is a big change to something, it is becuase something no longer supports the software, or our needs have outgrown the capacity of the server - something. I know for sure that the reason they made the change was NOT to discourage or lose members. What ever the reason - it was done with the best of intentions to make the QB even better!

I know I would be very hurt if I put my heart and soul into something, then had it stomped all over without someone even giving it a chance. I remember when I started on the old board, I had a hard time finding some things I would hear talked about. But, Admin & other members were always helpful, and soon I could navigate quite easily. It didn't really take long. I am sure this will be the same way. We just need to play around a bit!

Let's all take a breath, vow to play around with the new board, and not make any hasty decisions! I haven't played much yet, so it may be here, but one suggestion (if Admin is reading this) - is the front page - at least for now - should maybe have a comparison between old and new to make navigation easier on us old timers! Thanks. I do see there is a Help page with alot of this info already. Maybe just add a little and move it to the front so it is more noticible.

It is sad when people do not give "new" a chance! Without "new" our society would still be in the stoneage. LOL. I find changes very difficult because of severe brain damage in the memory section of my brain. But, I am searching and learning and actually enjoying the challenge. Thanks for sharing and I hope that everyone gives this a chance before leaving.

Thanks for the heads up on some of the changes. I agree change is not always easy, but we will adjust once we have had a chance to do a little peeking into it. This is my first visit and am slowy learning my way around. Sooo many changes and I am beginning to see they are great. Thanks for the changes, they look great and we will adjust!!!

I agree - I posted a note to the moderator's last night offering to help people get adjusted to the new board, kind of like a cheat sheet of where things are on the new board. I think that for some it's a huge change versus a small change to others - for people that are not computer savvy I think it created a feeling of being lost and confused.

As for people leaving to go to other boards I checked a lot of boards out before I came here, I'd interact and ask questions and no one answered me. Here I feel like everyone's kind of like my extended family that I look forward to talking to each day. If some leave I think we will see them come back because there's not much out there.
