You can set up your preferences to include all the posts you create and all the ones you reply to as automatically subscribe. Or you can do it for each topic, which is 3 clicks.
Once I subscribe, I don't need to delete the subscription when I'm done with it. I can leave it as subscribed and not read anything else if I lose interest.

many of us do not have all day (nor the patience) to sit and click through everything just to be able to read a couple of pages. there should be a roadmap somewhere to assist with this. unfortunately i haven't found one yet and i know that i am computer literate and software savvy. i use to train others to use programs. maybe one of the people who have had time to click through much of this board can provide a tip sheet.

learning something new, to me, does not mean this much frustration. learning something new should be a pleasant process imho.
i asked this yesterday also, where is the glossary with equivalent terms? for instance, 'watched topics' is not the same thing as subscription.... subscribing to a site, function, topic, etc., has a technical meaning on a computer that's been around for a generation now.... and it does not mean a 'watched topic'... but it would have helped us to know that was what they meant, even if it doesn't work the same... and how about all those other buttons that may be doing some of the things we want, but if we don't know to ask the right question, will not be found? and it is irritating to search and search for something that may be there with a different name, or it may just be a waste of time because the new layout did not include it. why was there no information given to us to begin with? a simple glossary or list of changes would have helped immensely.

I had some free time this evening and learned quite a bit about this new board on another thread. It has helped me with my font size and getting email notices to the topics I'm subscribed to. I'm still hoping to find the list of users, and where to search for topics, I used this a lot to try and keep from repeating questions that had already been answered.

At first I didn't like it much, but that was because I didn't know how to use it, now that I've learned a few things I'm really excited to learn much more. It will take time and patience the 2 things I don't have much of. LOL. But all in all it's kinda growing on me.

thank you, good point, yooper!

Where can you find these preferences? In settings?

Some good positive comments on here thank you as the negativity on some threads without even trying it or listening to the help they are offered is getting me down now.
that's kind of our point... she put up an announcement without any general information about how we were to find beginner's info.... and what good does it do us if we are now being told to look for something that has been taken down? all we want is good information to guide us and we are being told that we're on our own...
