Default Is it possible? quillow from a square quilt?

To make a quillow from a square quilt? Most patterns I can find are for rectangular quillows

In these directions it says "The top of the blanket is one of the shorter sides of the rectangular blanket (the width). If you made a square blanket, the top is whichever side you choose."

So it looks like you can do it. would love to see it when done, of course!

I think the folding would be a problem but maybe not. I don't know. make a little sample of a square and see.

Quillow is folded by putting the right side over, then the left side over to rest on the pillow envelope. The column is then folded in 3rds, to go into the pillow. If you do a square, the column will just be folded in half instead of thirds. You will have a less full pillow when you are done.

Thank you for your help. I finally managed to find a pattern and it's just a case of reversing the pocket so the open side is towards the binding rather than towards the centre of the quilt.

I made two for Christmas 2018 that were square. The parents wanted them square for easy use in the car. They thought that would be easier as they took a bit less space. So that is what I did. I was happy with the outcome. The girls loved them!

Is that how you did it Juliasb? Having the opening of the pocket towards the binding?
