I was told if you are making a quilt with Minkee for a young child you should "ALWAYS" pre-wash. Reason being is the young ones have tendency to suck on the fabric and could ingest fuzz off of the Minkee. What are your thoughts on this?

I wash the finished quilt before gifting or letting the child use it.

I wash minkee before I sew with it and then wash the quilt before I give it to someone.

I cut the fabric then put it in the dryer on "air fluff" to get rid of the little fuzzies. After it's done I wash the quilt before giving it away.

I wash mine, I also use Dreft detergent... I let the parents know that I have washed it in Dreft so it is all ready for the little one's sensitive skin.
