Default Pressing tip I learned last weekend

This is probably old news for lots of you, but I learned this from an expert seamstress this weekend and it made a huge difference for me. When pressing seams open, first press flat to set the seam, then flip and press to one side, then open it up and press open. Pressing to one side first makes it much easier to open up. Prior to this I would set seam, then finger press open - then press. That extra step is genius. Hoping I'm not the only one who didn't know this

I'm the second one who didn't know this little trick. I usually press my seams to one side when quilting but this is a good trick for garment sewing.

I didn't know it either. You learn so much from this board. I love it.
