Does anyone cut their own stencils out of plastic to use to mark the quilting design on their quilts? I've cut a few very simple shapes, but it's difficult to cut out and end up with a smooth edge.

I'm thinking of buying a stencil cutter, but I'm not sure if it would be worthwhile.

Thanks

I make my own with the plastic stencil sheets that I buy at the Hobby Lobby store or from Joanns. I use my wood burner to get the edges smooth. It does stink up the house while doing it, so I do it out in the garage or pick a day when I can have all the windows open.
