Default Primitive Quilts

I have had a request from my DDIL for a quilt like the one on the cover of Primitive Quilts and Projects, January issue. Does anyone subscribe to this mag? I have the copy which was a gift from my DSIL. It is done in flannel I believe perhaps a wool flannel (is there such a thing?). Anyone know where I can purchase similiar fabric for primitive quilting patterns? No info is noted on the quilt in the magazine.

Flannel can be made of either cotton or wool. Is there a reason you want to use wool? I think the quilt could be made just as well in cotton flannel, and cleaning it would be easier.

Is this the quilt?

Yes Dunster, that is the quilt. Thank you for your suggestion, I have never quilted with Flannel or Wool. Now the hard part, do you know of a web site that sells in those colors? Thanks for your help.

Connecting Threads has good quality cotton flannel, at good prices. You could probably find the colors you want there.

You can find that magazine issue at Barnes & Noble. And if you want the quilt to be flannel, I recommend Maywood Studio's "Woolies" line. They're gorgeous and look like wool.

dunster and Peckish thanks for the info! Found out the definition of felted wool today, apparently it means that it has been laundered and shrunk, according to the gal at the quilt store. I look forward to making this quilt, will post pics when I get it done, thanks again!
