What size would you make a baby quilt not intended to be used as a crib quilt - just a carry around "blankie"?

Basically one yard. Either 36" X 36" or 36" X width of fabric (42"or so.)

I make baby quilts out of 1 yard of fabric....36 x wof (usually 42 or 44), if for a baby bed I make it 42 x 54

Thanks everyone. Think I will go with the 36 by wof - then I don't have to piece the back. This is for Halloween and I have some really neat fabric so this will be fun.
