In the August 5, 2009 QB newsletter, Amy commented on a book "Patchwork Minus the Mathwork". I can only find one for about $50. Can Amy - or anyone - tell me where to find the $8 version she recommends. Sounds VERY helpful. Thanks. Nany Mary

Hi Nana Mary. WELCOME from sunny Southern California. We like to see where everyone is from, and if you go into My Profile and fill in the FROM category, it will show on all your postings.

As for Patchwork Minus Mathwork, it was recommended on a thread here recently, so I went in search of what I expected to be an $8 book. I found a used one on Amazon.com that was going for $10 so I bought it. What seems freaky weird on this one is that the cheapest one now is something like $45 bucks -- all the way up to $191 bucks. For a small paperback booklet. I've never seen this radical of price differences myself. My guess is that you'll just have to keep an eye open on amazon and eBay until you see a reasonably priced one, then pounce on it.

hi from Florida! 8)
I agree with 2wheelwoman, find an inexpensive one, and pounce on it, cause I have seen some ridiculous prices on some books, too! I thought they were misprints!

Nana Mary - I just looked on amazon.com and they have one of these books in like new condition for $15.00 plus $4.00 shipping. The next cheapest one is something like $48.00.

You could try checking with your local bookstore, to see if the title is still in print. If it is, they would be able to check stock and order through a supplier like Baker and Taylor. If it is Out of Print, you will just have to watch out for it online. Seems the book is now selling for more now than it's original price!
