Here's a tip for keeping bobbin threads neat. I found at a dollar store some tiny stretchy pony tail holders. Must be about 100 in the little plastic purse. They are just about the size of a bobbin. I wrap one around my bobbins to keep the threads neat, matching up the thread color on the bobbin with the color of pony tail holder. Easy to find the right bobbin color and the thread is all neatly tucked under.

I read some of the tips after posting. Looks like someone already discovered the pony tail holder tip. It works great.
Blessings.

Yay!! What a sweetie you are for doing this. Thank you.

GrammaO 04-16-2011 08:45 AM

thank you. What a great way to quickly find tips. One that I didn't see:
I bought a plastic container made for storing match box cars. A spool of thread fits perfectly in the hole made for the car with room for the matching bobbin. The box is double sided and clear so you can easily see the colors through the lid.

Homemother 04-16-2011 08:52 AM

Cecilia - Thank you! I looked over the page and it is a wonderful reference tool! Fab job!

Marysewfun 04-16-2011 09:10 AM

What a huge endeavor - but oh so worthwhile to everybody - thank you so much. I have bookmarked it - but agree it would be super fabulous if we could have it added to the top menu up here - - but I am not pressing my luck - - thank you!

Happy Quilting!

Not sure where to post to for tips. Here, as I am or just make a new thread and you will pick it up.

I had been hearing about pinmores, but didn't understand their concept. I found a link to them, just in case there are others out there in the dark as well.

I had the same doubt... go to this site home page... in the first line you can see "Main"... click.... this is the place where you'll find the "Tips page" link...

Now I am the one who wants to know how to bookmark the "tips" page...

If you are coming in from your e-mail and want to go to the main page scroll up to the top of the page. See where it says Home on the left? Under Quilting Board? Click on that then select Main, Pictures, Blocks of the Month & Week or whatever you want. I hope this makes sense and helps.

I just discovered that the breath savers round containers are GREAT for storing old rotarty blades. When full, just discard. It is much safer that way :)
