We are our own worst critics. No quilt I ever produced was perfect; however, I have greatly Improve from one quilt to the next. Looking at native American crafts, there is always a flaw. They believe that only the Gods are perfect.
Your work, as you shown us, is remarkable for free motion and I hope that some day I will be that good. In the mean time, I will continue creating my works of art and enjoying myself, the members of this board, and the two guilds that I belong to. And a great big thank you for all the advice and tips from my new found friends. It's not the destination, it is the journey that we embark upon. And when you learn something along the way is just a bonus. |
I think those feathers look great!

I really don't know what your complaining about. Don't compare yourself to others, your fabulous.
|
Honey, you are being way to critical. You do nice work.!! I only wish I could do as well.
|
I don't see the problem either. I think you did a great job myself.
|
Looks good to me.

I won't even attempt to stiple (afraid of failure) and will only stitch in the ditch. Your feathers are perfect!

Take a really deep breath. I think this quilt looks beautiful. Don't we wish we could all just sit at the sewing machine the first time and FMQ like a pro! It's not going to happen, but your ability certainly is evident in this quilt. Keep practicing and I am sure you will gain more confidence. Great job.

So how long have you been doing this? It is AWESOME. I've been quilting for about 10 years and now I feel inferiour to your skill

I'm in the same boat as you are. The quilt on my machine is looking awful. I'm having a miserable time even trying to finish it because I know all the time, cost of material & work for the top is ruined. If I can finish it before I toss it out it will be a donation to Salvation Army. Lesson learned, I would rather pay a long arm quilter than have any more of my tops ruined....2nd lesson learned I love making the tops and even if the quilting did turn out I really did not enjoy that part of the process.
