$500 gift card from fabric.com??

I was checking out yardage requirements and got a pop up saying I won a $500 gift card from fabric.com. This seems too good to be true and I am very leery of getting involved in a scam. Does anyone on the Board know anything about this? I would call fabric.com if it weren't after hours. I sure could be happy spending that card.Thanks.

Sharon B----I was not on their site. I can call tomorrow. The url in the pop up does say www.fabric.com Thanks for the feedback.

i would be leery of a pop- up offer-
i've been shopping with fabric.com for 12 years and have never been that lucky! unless you won through the fabshophop or some legitimate program (which you joined/signed up for) it is a scam- they do not just randomly give things like that out----some scammer is trying to get some personal information from you....pop-ups are best blocked/ignored.

That's a scam alert .... don't believe it!

I would be leery of that also. May not be a scam, but they may want you to complete all kinds of offers and sign up for things before you get your "prize".

Call them so they can investigate.

This just happened to me with another well known company and when I called them they directed me to their legal office that goes after these scam artists. Sure glad i followed through and may save someone else the pain but could have used that million dollar deal. LOL.

Be leary of ALL pop-ups. I always delete them without looking no matter what the deal.
(I did go to one a long time ago. Before you could even get to your "goody" you had to answer way too many personal questions. I just stopped and shut it down.)

All your advice was right on. I called Fabric.com this morning and was advised that it was not a legitimate communication from them. Oh, darn. At least I didn't fall for it hook, line and sinker. Thanks to all who responded.
