Have this magnetic thingy . If I push it against the dog feet, I get a perfect 1/4 inch seam. Need a skinny foot, this is on my Singer Touch and Sew. (my old workhorse)

If I understand you right you have a magnet thingy that you place on the the plate next to the feed dog and it is a 1/4" seam. Is it a special thingy or would any magnet work?

Oh I see the picture now.

Be careful of magnets if you have an electronic machine! They can really mess us things if not made for that purpose on your machine.

I use one on my Featherweight as well, they're only a few dollars & really work.

You have to be careful using magnets. Some computerized machines are affected by magnets.
The idea is great otherwise.

and I guess you would have to figure out how wide your feed dogs are.

You can buy (less than $5) a screw on seam guide. If your machine has a little hole like the one in the picture it will work even on the computerized machines.
