What is the best way to make sure your 1/4 seams lay the correct way w/o flipping when sewing? I personally prefer using my inside-side of my presser foot at a guide...guess I'm right eyed:))

ONe of my first quilt instructors for a class I took used blue painters tape and marked 1/4" from the needle. Taped a big line all the way down the sewing area. I still had a hard time with it. When I got a new machine, I got a great deal on quilting accessories. I got a darning foot that I use for free hand quilting, a walking foot for sewing bulky stuff or quilting in the ditch, something else I can't remember, and my most prized possession a 1/4" foot.

If by flipping you mean it flopping over while you sew it together with another piece......some pin on either side to hold it in place and pull the needle at the last minute...!

check the pattern if using one.......most are based on experience and if you follow the order of putting it together, they just seem to go the right way..a little spritz of water and your finger does wonders. I like emery boards, don't slip; and tip of iron; would love one of those tiny ones.......hope I helped a little
