Just celebrated 72nd birthday and discovered my math skills are the latest thing to abandon my brain. Want to make a Tumbler Quilt (MO Star Quilt Co), but I don't want to spend $19.00 for the template which I'll never use again.
If there's a math wizard out there, can you draw a rough sketch and mark the inches for me - or anything that will guide me to make the template from a cereal box (like Grandma did) Thanks sooooo... much. I thought there was a site somewhere that gave these measurements for a lot of templates, but that bit of info has left the building too. |
earlier today, i saw a tumbler drawn as 5" tall, 5" base, and 3" top

If you go to quilters cache you can print a template for the tumbler. If you need a larger size it would be easy to enlarge,

I had charm squares that were 5 inches and just laid them on my mat and cut an inch in and down to the edge of the bottom. Much easier than using a template. I tried and kept cutting into the cardboard dulling my blade.

Tumblers can be any size you want ... from teeny-tiny-itsy-bitsy ones thru to ginormous! :)
