10 min table runner??
Has anyone put a light weight batting in the 10 min table runner? I need a table runner in a hurry and found this one on the internet and thought I would try it, but I would like to do a little quilting on it and the patter does not call for batting..
What are your thoughts on this? Thanks Carol |
i have used light weight batting and flannel in placemats and quilted those without any problem.

I use Deco Bond for placemats and quilt them with no problem. Deco Bond keeps them flat and crisp, more polished appearance.

The only problem I could see if when the ends are folded back to make the point. You could either leave it straight or determine where the flat end would be and just put the batting in the straight section.

What are your thoughts on this? Thanks Carol Carol, I have made sev of these runners. I found I liked it when I put a piece of batting (I only use Warm & Natural) just on the center section & not in the point sections. The folded sections are thick enough to even it out. Worth a try. Pat |
I have used warm/natural batting, thinks it's a little too thick though. What I did to my points before turning them is add about 6" to end (of any fabric ,wont be seen anyhow) so you don't lose any of your newest fabric when turned over.
Deco bond is good or anything lighter weight. |
I suggest using interfacing or stabilizer

I like batting also. I did not put batting in the points but did put it in the body of the runner...just top stitch on sides and quilt middle so it stays flat....

I did this for last years Christmas table runners. I only put the batting in the rectangle and left the folded over points . The quilting turned out really nice. I did a meander all over. Everyone that I gifted them to really liked them.

I have made many of these table runners, but without the batting.....great way to use up fabric. I will trying doing these with batting in the center part.
