10 minute blocks with two colors in center of block

I have seen a ten minute block where there was a second color in the center, making the diamond look like piping, but I can't find it.

This works great. Just adjust the unit sizes until you get the block sizes you want. I've done it. It's really easy.

Looks cute, but does it get pretty thick in the middle of it? The center block is basically 4 layers thick. (4 patch, diamond doubled, plus center fabric)

Is this the post you were asking about: http://www.quiltingboard.com/picture...t-t187145.html

She did a beautiful job and she cut the excess fabric out.

After I sew the edges of the center block down, I trim the back off. This cuts out the intersection where the 4-patch seams are.

thanks guys, very helpful and right on target. Now I will try to figure out how to save them somewhere so I can find them later when I am ready to work on it.

I've done the mock cathedral window machine embroidery blocks and they are precious. All you have to do is trim your blocks, butt them up to the adjacent block and zigzag them together. Really cute and looks a lot harder than it really is!
