Has anyone heard of a "10 minute runner"? I guess there isn't a pattern for it for purchase so there is no copyright and I am wondering how to make it. I know I need 1/3 yd of one fabric and 1/2 yard of another (coordinating) fabric but then I don't know what comes next. Can anyone help me out?

K, so I just checked those links that nativetexan put on but I don't understand how one is supposed to finish the last end. is it a tuck in from the right side and hand stitch or what? any thoughts?

If I made anything in ten minutes, it would look like it!

I really didn't understand how to finish it. Maybe I need someone to show me live? I can't get my mind around how it becomes a point on the end.

Dar-midlife 09-12-2010 10:05 AM

Yes, that is what I mean/meant too! Thanks for putting it in better words. I can see getting one end before turning while it is still in a tube right sides together but how do we do it on the other end? I'd like to see a few photos on a tutorial. Thanks.

Here are the pictures of the 10 min. table runner, I just tried this as a sample, next one I make I will quilt and make for fall and Xmas............. After you do the tube, fold the runner in half lengthwise and stitch a 1/4 inch on both ends ( I folded the back of the runner in half) so the yellow would come to the front, you can also do it the other way. Now turn your runner ends to the front to form a point........Hope this helps.....Michele.......... Any questions just ask

Thanks for the photos! I just got home from work and I am going to try one quick--should be finished in 10, right :-D I'll let you know. did you interface?

Dar-midlife 09-14-2010 02:37 PM

OK--I'm finished but I'm trying to get a photo on here and am having troubles. I have to leave so I'll post one later tonight (hopefully) but I DID get it finished. Very fun AND EASY. It took me a bit longer than 10 minutes 'cuz I made a yo yo for each end.

No interfacing, the next one I do I will add batting and quilt........Glad you got one done please post a picture.....Michele

OK, I think this picture should attach. I just took a piece of well-aged fabric from my stash to try this. It was fun and I did interface the "focus" (in this case, the country/farm scene) fabric and it has very nice body to it. Thanks for all the help. I hope to do lots more.

My first 10-min. runner. made 9/14/10

The ones I've seen may take a few minutes more as there are no raw edges so it is reversible. Fun, fast last minute gift idea.

Almost instant gratification! I like it!

They ar e really great to make. I can now make them in ten minutes including sewing on the buttons. I have made some with applique on which took longer.
