108" backing
For those of you that use this all the time, and purchase it online, who has the best selection (color and/or patterns), quality and price?
Thanks |
Personally I prefer www.fabric.com for my backings. I haven't found it less expensive any where else. If I'm wrong, please correct me :) I try to wait until one of their sales and then order lots of backing and batting at the 20% off.

I prefer Connecting Threads
|
I, too, like fabric.com. Marshall Dry Goods has good prices, but their selection is more limited--worth checking out, though.
|
Thousands of Bolts has nice backings as well. They go on sale a few times a year.
|
I also use Connecting Threads and Fabric.com they both have low $ purchase to get free shipping:)
|
Yes, I 2nd the Thousand of Bolts website.

Mary Jo's Cloth store in Gastonia,NC has an adequate supply for me. When I was last there, the wide backs were selling for 6.99/yd, but the new stuff they said would be 8.99/yd. I haven't used the ones up that I bought, so I haven't looked to see what they have online.

fabric.com has a nice selection to choose from- including flannels- and free shipping at $35
|
Sew It Is in central New York usually has a good selection as well as good prices and fast shipping.

I like thousands of bolts... lots of great backing fabric. I have ordered backings from Fabric.com and got one that was so thin it was like gauze... so stick with a name brand on that site... if there is not a manufactures name or one that you can't say for sure about the quality .. then find a manufactures name you can trust.
|
I agree with this!

I think I'd try this site if I didn't piece all my backs.
Ran across it looking for toile http://www.backsidefabrics.com/ |
Last couple I purchased were from Thousands of bolts and were very nice.

If I'm going to order a wide back (I usually piece my backs) I usually order from Christian Lane and have been happy with their quality. If you're uncertain they will send you a good-sized swatch so you can see and feel what you will be ordering.

I but most of my backings from Crafttown Fabrics in Pekin Indiana, they are an on-line store only, and have excellent service!
|
Hancock's of Paducah has a huge assortment and if you are on their mailing list they have sales every so often that are remarkable, very low priced for 108" backings. And all of their fabrics are top notch!

Give Whittle's in KY a try....I absolutely love their store prices on everything, and I understand they do internet too. They are close enough for me to travel up there periodically, and I don't do internet ordering, so I can't vouch for that.
