15 waiting to be quilted...yikes!

Oh boy, i have a terrible habit. I finish the top, cut the backing and make the binding. Then it goes in a pile. I now have 15 quilts in the pile. I have vowed not to start anything new til these are done. Well, its been 10 days, i have 2 finished and this morning i HAD to cut pieces for a new project. Arghh, i have no willpower! Sadly, quilting is my least favorite part and i'm not very good at it. This is killing me! Someone out there, please tell me you have a similar problem!

Well I have an answer for that. When it is the middle of winter, you and sit by the fire, (or in front of the television) and stitch the days away. I just finished one, and actually wish I had something else ready to be quilted. :-)

I am there with you! I just can't seem to quilt when the weather is hot. It takes cooler temps to get me into quilting. Meanwhile the tops add up don't they?

Perhaps you can make friends with a longarmer who prefers quilting to making tops and will exchange her labor for some of your tops. Win-win.

I have a pile waiting to be quilted. This summer was far to hot so waiting or winter. I hope they will help me save on the heating. Bill while I quilt them.

I am not fond of quilting but I absolutely love piecing and the whole design process. We are not alone, otherwise there would be no need for LAQ's for hire !

Me too. I have so many tops waiting. One of the board members said she decided she wasn't a quilter, she is a piecer. Me too.

I would much rather piece tops than quilt them. My sister told me it doesn't matter if we never get them quilted!
At least we enjoyed doing the tops! I think she is right. Why stress about it.

I'm with the rest of you - I think we gravitate to what we are good at and find it difficult to do what we aren't accomplished at. I have 3 quilts pinned and ready to quilt - many other tops completed and stashed in different places. My goal is to start on those that are ready and start doing them - that is the only way I will learn how to quilt the way I would like. Just need to get started!!

I'm with you. I must have 10 or 12 quilt tops to be quilted. I'm trying not to start a new quilt until I get one or more quilted.
