Hello, I'm another lurker and have read the board for quite some time. I was on once before, but decided to withdraw. I've been PM'ing with Rhonds W and this is sparking my interest in quilting again. My present delimea is I can't find reasonably priced 1930's prints for my Sonbonnet Sue Doll Quilts. range $3 - $5 on Internet. I want to cut out blocks and have them lined up to take to the hospital for my upcoming surgery July 14th for knee replacements & then Rehab Facility for a few days. Any help will be greatly appreciated as I don't have long for the mail to reach me. Apparently what I had was in a bag I gave my neighbor for her sister, or I've thrown out my small prints by accident. I have to get organized so when I come home I can get to my projects. Right now things look like a strom came through. I've been finishing UFO's as my Sewing business is down right now because of Summer Vacations. Thanks. 8)

Have you tried www.thousandsofbolts.com? The site is good, though I haven't been able to order from here in Ireland, so I am a frustrated wannabe purchaser.

I found some deals on ebay. the last one's I bought I got 25 fq for $25. I've also gotten 50 fq for about $50. It's a good place to check out anyway.

www.quiltshops.com is a fun place to search. I found some at Stitch-N-Frame and at Strawberry patches. Strawberry Patches has some for $4.00 per.

I just checked them out & 1930's are $2.50/FQ. Gonna keep checking. Thanks for the link & I'm sorry you can't order from there. I know in Ireland, UK & other places it's hard to order.

Since I'm pressed for time, I'd rather buy from an individual on the QB or a shop, so I know I'm getting quality for this particular project. Thanks for the link.

Connecting threads has a line of 1930 fabric and they only charge 5.96 a yard for all their fabric.

Thanks Rose Marie. Mama's Cottons2 is nice. I found a Jelly Roll that will be mailed by an individual next week, so I'll see how far I get with it, then maybe I'll have time to rush order before I go in & if not, can order when I get back home. Everyone here has been so helpful...super!

I would suggest buying a fat quarter pack of the 30's prints. You will get a variety. It won't be $3 a yard anywhere! unless you may find some on Ebay.
My aunt hasn't bought fabric in years and she about fainted when she went with me to a quilt shop! She was use to paying $2.50 a yard for the really good stuff. :shock: She loved the Jelly Rolls, charm packs and fat quarters. She said that was the way to buy fabric.

I agree with your Aunt. I buy 5 or 6 yds of fabric I think will make good backs for lap quilts or doll quilts. Unless I know the person I'm working for, I ask that they bring all their supplies. I'm several miles from nearest city & can't stop to make fabric run to Wal-Mart or Local Fabric Outlet. Everything except Wal-Mart closes at 5 or 6pm. They're getting in a few FQ's at the local Wal-Mart. Guess I need to go see if they have any Aunt Grace or other 1930's.
