I am in love with all the 1930's reproduction fabrics and have begun a small stash of them. I am buying 1 yard pieces in various colors and prints and have about 15 yards so far. Is there a particular pattern or block that these would look best in?
It would need to be fairly simple because I am a somewhat beginning quilter. I am also trying to convince myself to start on Sun Bonnet Sue for my DD using the repro fabrics. That is where I fell in love with them. I have a small collection of 1/4 yard prints for the Sue quilt. |
I love fans and Dresden plates done in 30's fabs. Lots of patterns they look good in.

I adore bow ties and pinwheels done in '30's fabrics.

I have seen a great 30's quilt with alternating 9-patch and hourglass blocks.

Sorry I can't help much. I have about 35 fat quarters that I would LOVE to make a grandmothers flower garden out of but I am scared to cut the fabric, instead it sits in my bedroom closet!

I agree with redquilter-Bowties and pinwheels look great in those fabrics.

Our Quilt group, the Fat Quarter Quilters, have just finished a quilt to be raffled off at our fair in August, and it is ALL from 30's fabrics and has been done in a SAMPLER Quilt. They have even added a couple 12 1/2 inch blocks that have been embroidered. It is the most gorgeous quilt I have seen in a long time. You can never go wrong making a sampler quilt with those fabrics. Joanie
