Well I did it I found this singer on Crigslist for 35 dollars and was wondering if anyone knows anything about this machine. I just bought a brother last June and I am taking it about 50 miles away for the second time for repairs. I am so angry . I think the old machines were built to last. Needless to say I will not be buying another brother machine.Also I had purchased another brother about a year ago and it don't work either. I also have a Janome long arm which I love and 2 Juki one longarm and one a comercial straight sew. Both the Juki's are old too and both work great.

could be a jewel!! Have you sewed on it? or looked at it?? I love the old Singers they are true workhorses, not like what Singer makes now.... I have a couple and have paid more than $35. for them.... I also have a new brother and love it, would love to find an industrial machine....

If that one is like the one I learned on, which it looks to be, you have a great machine that will do whatever you want as lnog as it only requires a straight stitch, or you use one of the fancy attacchments that were in the little green box that we had.

Congrats on your Vintage Singer. The older ones are real workhorses. Enjoy your new toy.

I can't wait to get my fingers on it My son is picking it up in south Florida for me then I have to go to his home in north florida to get it but I am sure it will be worth every minute I have to wait.

It looks like a 66 - beautiful decals on that one!

Finding accessories and a manual for it will be easy as pie. :) It takes normal low shank attachments, class 66 bobbins and 15X1 needles.
