Your quilt is beautiful. Maybe if you practice on something small, and you will feel more comfortable? Not that I ever did that, mind you. I just jump right in and then rip right out. :)

I always had problems with getting my back tight enough to quilt without puckers. After I started using quilt basting spray I had much better luck.

I had this problem a couple months ago and it was the batting. I change it and it was alot better. I used basting spray and also pinned and then basted with two inch stictches. It was OK then. Starch on the backing also helps. I hope you have it down pretty soon. It is frustrating. Your quilt looks nice. I would not attempt without a walking foot. I seem to do better if I bast the whole quilt by hand and take the pins out and then it stays put while I move it under the machine.

I pinned then I basted my quilt then I could take the pins out. I also used the low loft cotton batt. Love your quilt.

I saw a You Tube video about quilt basting that used a piece of flooring underlayment. This was put on a dining room table to stretch the quilt to pin baste for quilting. Pam M |
