'30's repro fabrics--where to find them????
For a long time now I have been wanting to do 'something' with 1930s fabrics!! Just love the colors and the simplicity of the designs!!
But no matter what terms I use to Google...I can not find where any are sold :( I have checked (with different terms) on different fabric websites and still no luck.............. Please help me find the right term to Google or...even better....where I might find some!!!! Thank you!!!!!!!!! |
Keepsake Quilting has 1930s as does Judie Rothermel's website
http://www.schoolhousequilts.com/ Try Aunt Grace fabric as one of your search terms. That's Judie's line. I think Darlene Zimmerman used to have one as well under the name Chanteclaire (don't know if that's the correct spelling). Good luck with your search. These fabrics are wonderful! |
Olde City Quilts in Burlington, NJ has always had a very nice selection of 30's repros. I know they are having a sale this weekend. No idea if the repros might be part of that. But they do carry nice quality fabrics. Not affiliated in any way, just a happy, infrequent customer of theirs.

Fabric Shack has a line of Kimberly's Garden By Fresh Water Design:
http://www.fabricshack.com/cgi-bin/Store/store.cgi Might want to do a search of AUNT GRACE or JUDIE ROTHERMEL by Marcus Bros. |
I just googled:
"1930's reproduction quilt fabric" and there were a lot of hits. Here's just one: http://www.fatquartershop.com/reprod...s-quilt-fabric |

Thank you for this!! Went to Keepsake and they had an Aunt Grace kit on clearance!!!! Grabbed it!!! |
I don't know if Beverly's is a local store for you up in Oregon (they are all over in CA) but if they are in your area, they have a good selection of 30's repro's too. They have an online store too but it's not as "full" as their physical stores.

There's an eBay seller called Franks11 where you can buy a variety of 1930's prints in various size cuts for a decent price.
http://www.ebay.com/sch/Sewing-Fabri...30%27s&_sop=15 I haven't bought the 1930's there, but that is my go to place for muslin. They have great customer service and quick delivery. The only downfall is that they do not take PayPal. I call them and give them my card #. |
Whittle's Fabrics has grab bags of '30's reproduction. I have bought several times and been pleased.

I added this shop to my list to visit next summer on our annual visit to our DD in North Haledon, NJ. The shop is only 81 miles away. Well worth the trip! |

I think right now they have some that's actually on sale, too. First link is to the 30's repros, 2nd link is to all of the clearance fabrics: http://www.connectingthreads.com/col...lectionBox-200 http://www.connectingthreads.com/web...ml?showAll=yes Kif |

Thank you!!!!!!!!! http://www.easyquiltingcorner.com/ Here is the yardage http://www.easyquiltingcorner.com/sh.../1930s-fabric/ It also says it has precut 1930s Hexies coming soon. She is adding fabrics all the time so you might check with her and see if more is coming in before placing your final order. Not associated with the shop. |
I love those too. Fat Quarter, Connecting Threads, e-quilter, Missouri Star Quilt are just a few that carry those fabrics.
|
Most quilt shops have some aunt grace fabrics. I use them on occasion and find them pretty easily when I'm out and about.
|
I found out sometime ago that they are really hard to find in the LQS. There was only one in my area that actually had a nice selection of them and I would purchase pieces from time to time, and when they went out of business as soon as I could I went and was going to buy some but, guess what, the ladies told me that they were some of the first bolts to go. I have seen them in Keepsake and The Fat Quarter Shop so good luck in your search.

AZ Jane,
That English Bulldog in your avatar pic is adorable! Hubby and I had English Bulldogs for years. They're the sweetest dogs...slobbery, but sweet...lol Kif |
