this is the quilt i started for my son, ethan, when he was 7. now he's 40.
i'm lucky he's a patient man who loves his mother! it started out as twin, then double and finally queen. it had a row top and bottom of blacks, but that made it way too long. it was all over the floor. now it's fine. it's 98-1/2 x 97-1/2. what happened to that extra inch? any opinions? LOL! stitch close-up close-up of the stitching |

Wow good for you on finishing. It looks great and if you don't mind I'm lmao. I think i would have thrown it out years ago.
|
Great job! I admire you, I can't remember how I wanted to do something a year ago, much less 33 years ago!
|
It looks amazing and how it didn't date itself! I'm sure it will be a treasure for him to keep and pass on..:))Great show! Skeat

you are just too cute :) it looks great!

to tell the truth, the longer i took to finish it, the more i couldn't stand the thought of looking at it. if my daughter hadn't gotten on my case, it would still be folded up somewhere. of course, she's waiting for her own 33-yr-old-quilt now. it just needs pics, then it goes to her house.

Worth the wait! Gives me hope--if you can finish a quilt after all this time, maybe I can finish some of my UFOs too! I'm sure he loves his quilt!
|
I like it.
Congratulations on finishing it! |
That's a great story to go with a great quilt! Very pretty and lively..
|
ha ha and I thought my 20 year quilt was setting a record!
sometimes you do just get sick and tired of something.... and for some reason some quilts take forever to do, yet another can get itself done in less than a week! |
OH Thank You! LOL.. Makes me feel better about my 27 year old UFO. LOL.. I did finish it just a few weeks ago . It was a baby quilt for my first son..Now I am just waiting for him to find a girl, get married and use it for his first child ! It is a GREAT quilt...

You selected beautiful colors. I like the nine patch blocks scattered through it. Congrats.

Congratulations!! And yes, it's as timely today as it was 33 years ago. That's the beauty of the classic patterns. I just love the color choices and the color bands. Especially the black and white in the center. (or is that gray? What a great story. Hope you wrote it down for him to pass on down with the quilt.
