I'm really interested in making something in this pattern, and was wondering: Does anyone ever have problems when the item is washed? I sure would hate to have to iron all those pinwheels back into shape

I was wondering the same thing. Anxious to see reply.

I haven't done a quilt with the pinwheel block, but I did one with the 3D Bowtie. It was a crib quilt for my DD. I didn't have any problems washing it (gentle cycle). But, when she carried around the little "pockets" would get caught on things, causing a few to rip.

When I made my I made sure the quilting was heavy under the loose part of the pinwheel so it popped a little. Was so much fun to make.
