I've admired stack and whack quilts for a long time but the diagonal seams and piecing to make them square was daunting to me...........this looks like one I CAN do!! : )

That is a lovely quilt. I have the pattern for it, and fabric, but have promissed myself not to start anything new until I finish at least 2 projects. Unfortunatly, it is not at the top of my "to start" list. May have to revisit that list and make some drastic changes. I have done a few S&W and I am sure this one would go together much more quickly. It is actually just a 4patch, it's all in the cutting. Amazing how something so simple can turn out so beautiful!

I learned this from another board. This gal did a photo tutorial, it was pretty easy to figure out (esp if you have done Stack n Whack).

Oh, this just looks toooooo fun AND easy!
As you may have noticed, I am really into posey blocks for quilts right now, perfect timing. And I can imagine this technique to be wonderful with the larger Asian print fabrics and so many applications. Thank you, thank you, thank you! This link is a keeper! :D |
Thank YOU too for the step-by-step instruction link!
I am excited about this technique. I am saving both of the links on this 4 patch posey/stack n whack style quilt. You ladies are awesome! One of the best reasons to come visit the quilting board, lots of info, lots of help, lots of pix....the best of everything! Thanks again  |
Granny Dwynn I used that fabric to make a stack/wack for my grandson.

Beautiful! Love your colors and makes me want to start stacking and whacking! I've never done one of these but sure looks like something I might want to try someday.
|
Can anyone please tell me how to cut the material to make the stacked posies? Looks like you need a fair amount of cloth. Thanks a lot!
