I can't find the topic but do have a question.When you sew 1/2 way around do you sew it the same 1/2 around on all 4 pattern pieces. thanks Barbara

sorry I couldn't find the topic so started a new one. I didn't understand how to sew the placemat pieces. it says half way around and didn't know if you sewed on the same half all the time

I didn't understand it, either.

So I decided it would be easier to make two placemats.

I looked at the photos on the other thread. I could not access the directions.

There are 4 equal ovals of fabric 1, 2, 3, 4. Each have a left hand side & a right hand side.

You sew
1R to 2L
2R to 3L
3R to 4L
4R to 1L

So, that is halfway around, 4 times. Follow the directions for turning.

Easier, maybe sew halfway around 1 and 2
half way around 3 and 4

open the unsewed sides of both, attach 1 to 4 and 2 to 3.
