I have both and use the 60mm mainly because it autocloses when not in use.
The 45mm I have on a mat next to the machine where I use it to cut smaller things after sewing a seam or just do not want to get up to go to the table.

and I cleaned my glasses so I can see that mine is 28mm NOT 38mm

I have more than one of each size, plus 28mm and 18mm cutters too. Which I use depends on what I am cutting, which one comes to light first and/or which one has a sharp blade in it (or the replacement blades are handy.) <G>
I also have 2 different styles of 45mm cutters in my travel with the travel machine box. <G>

Yeah, I like to have cutters when and where I need them. And try new ones too.

Have fun,

I have both also. 60 was my first and I love her. Someone gave me the 45 and I love him. I use them both because I have a table I cut big pieces on and I have a cutting mat next to my sewing machine. Also when cutting mulitple layers the 60 is much much better.

The 45mm blades are much more readily available so I'm going to just go with the 45mm one and the tiny one. I find I rarely use the tiny one though.

Don't throw it away! Eek! If it's a Fiskars, just contact them. I had a Fiskars that kept doing that and I contacted them about it. They had me send in a pic of it to them (to prove which model I had) and they sent me a new one, no questions asked.

I have all three and the one I use the most is the 45mm. The next size would be my 28mm for small stuff and I change blades to use on several thicknesses of paper. I hardly ever use the 60mm as it is just too big. I have used it on upholstery fabric, canvas, and such.
