5" charm pack perfect for 4" Drunkard Path quilt block

Fell in love with a 16DP layout I saw on Pinterest

Trying to figure out how to cut pieces using the 4 inch 2 piece template ruler without wasting too much fabric

Working it without a pattern per say, so maybe some of you may already know this

I looked for my small size Olfa rotary cutter to successfully cut the curves and ran into this beautiful flowery 5" charm pack

It works perfectly to easily and quickly cut through at least 4 layers both template w very little waste and I end up w the variety of fabrics I need

I'm so so pleased, I just had to share

Wish you posted the link so we could see the pattern. Hope that you post a photo while making this quilt.

and this is how well the 4" DP template can be cut from the 5" charm pack with little fabric waste.

Love this pattern. I especially like how the hand quilting makes it look homey to me. Thanks for sharing.

I like her templates.......thanks for reminding me I have that one. Oh, curves are not hard, just sew slowly and surprise yourself!

I never thought of cutting those from a charm pack. Good idea. There are several layouts I have been looking at on Pinterest using that ruler. Pinterest has made my bucket list so much larger.

See this video of Elisa's Back Porch Designs (whose DP template you are using). She demos using the 3.5 inch template on charm packs. Keep watching because after cutting she demos the no-pin sewing method for those curves. I think her instructions are really good.

Here's another video demo of using fat quarters to cut multiples of 7 inch DP block.

Thank you for the video link, I have the same Pfaff machine and the video made sewing the curves so clear. I am going through my sewing room and have not come across the template set. Am cutting scraps into more usable sizes and hope to have plenty to make something.

Sure do want to see a photo of your finished project.
