CJ you did an amazing job!!!!!!!! I want one for myself!
I agree it prob cost quit a bit in your time. With my Brother PE it would take me forever. But I do love the quilt too. |
Obviously since she doesn't have an embroidery machine she has no idea how labor intensive and expensive it can be to machine embroider, and there's a lot of embroidery there. Seems a bit nervy for her to ask you to help, was she going to pay for your time, stabilizer, thread and machine?
Even at $1000 there won't be much profit. It's a beautiful quilt, but I can't imagine making it for anyone other than a very special family member. |
I wonder if you would be more successful at getting the designs to lay right if you assembled the entire quilt to the sandwich point and then added the embroidery? I find that batting makes an awesome stabilzer.

I've seen the little monkeys on fabric, I think I'd fussy cut and appliqué them on the quilt.

No, it doesn't help. I did a 2nd quilt that, way, assembled the top, spray basted it to my batting, and then embroidered it. I think it turned out worse, if I do another, I will embroidery the blocks first, assemble the quilt and then quilt it, like I did the first one.

I love the monkeys. I found a panel with the a story about 5 funky monkeys jumping on the bed and cut out the sections and made a quilt top.

Margaret The backer for this quilt is a flannel monkey print. It's looking for a home if you're interested. |
