I just cannot do the math... if I just did squares - how big would it be? Is there anything else easy I could do with them? Would it make it much smaller than just sewing the squares?

I made a King with Moda charm packs. I used about 7 of them.
I made a Disappearing 9 Patch. Wish I could remember the exact info but I can't. Right now it's at the LAQ but it's around 110 X 110 and has a five inch border. My packs had 40 squares in each so that was about 280 squares. |
Edit**
13 X 14 squares is 58 1/2" X 63" (182 squares sewn together) Yes, any additional cuts and/or seamlines would shorten these measurements. Have you tried going to Moda's site, and looking at their free patterns for charm packs? :D:D:D |
I have been at moda looking - and now I'm just more confused! I think this is the hardest part of quilting for me - I have fabric and I can't figure out what to do with it!!

I just edited my reply... I miscalculated

Thanks Amma - I probably need just a bit more for what I'm thinking - and that does tell me just to be simple! Which is good at this point!!

I have difficulty figuring out the final size with charm packs too, especially if it is an ordinary pattern that uses squares.
Good calculating Amma!! Thanks! |
It was EQ  not me LOL
I get lost trying to calculate charms when you cut them in half... or quarters  Even EQ is no help to me then  |

Here is a pattern calling for 5 charm packs. I hope this works as it is a word document file.

You can always add some solid and make something like this:
