From what I can tell being able to buy a 17 oz. can of 505 on ebay for about $27 (cost plus shipping) is a good price. How many regular size quilts can you get out of this can? How long can this product sit before it dries out and can't be used? Just trying to figure out if it's going to be cost effective to buy the larger can.

I can get the same size can here in Australia for $18-00, so the price seems a bit high. I get around 3 single bed size quilts out of a can, I love the stuff.

You use less spray on cotton batting than poly or cotton/poly... so it varies for me on how many quilts I can get out of a can. I have had some for over a year, and no problems with it not spraying :D:D:D

I have bought the 6.2 size for $6.82. You do the math! ! ! I think it is a little pricey.

If you have a store near you that carries it that seems high to me. I am in California and have dozens of quilt stores near me. There is an alternate product that many folks like as well which is quite cheap but I cannot remember name right now. Available at Walmart. I will check around when I get home. I don't use either much but learned about it at an appliqué class and it is like $5 a can. Someone else here will know. There is a wealth of info here.

I use the June Tailor also. I works great - really holds the sandwich together well.

I don't remember what I last paid for it, so I checked online. Wow, there's quite a variance in price depending on where you buy it! According to this info, a 12 ounce can might cost anywhere from $6.95 to well over $25!

Here's some other prices, too.

Looks like amazon.com has it for only $11.00 (from their Sellers, so there's shipping added), Walmart wanted $14.99.

I'll be interested to see what the other members report to you.

I use it a lot with my embroidery machine, too. Just got a load of the 6 oz in and the suggested retail price is 12.99 per can.

I've got the June Taylor and swear by it.

one of the (issues) with buying it from ebay is the shipping part- those sellers have to charge more to send it-it's considered a hazardous material- can't go by air-
you should be able to find it much less expensive locally- even walmarts, meyers, hobby lobbie, michaels---all carry it- for half of what you are quoting

Lisaherr 07-05-2011 05:56 AM

I bought several cans from The Shoppers Rule site for $14.00 or so...you might want to check it out there. I also have purchased the June Tailor and like it as well.

I checked our Walmart yesterday and the only spray they had were by Locktite and Elmer's. Read the label on the Locktite and it's permanent. Thought I read the label on Elmer's a little more carefully so bought a small can but when I got it home I realized it doesn't wash out. GRRRR!!! That's the downfall of living in such a rural community like I do is that I eventually wind up ordering online just about anything I need. Found an online coupon for Joann's that gave me 50% off one item so I purchased 2 cans of the 505....along with some new fabric. LOL!!! Just couldn't help myself.

Added the site to my favorites so I can check it out. Thanks!
