505 spray and fix, temporay
This spray washes out right? The can directions say :"to remove adhesive--dry clean". Did I buy the wrong thing? I'm just checking before I use this on my quilt.

I think I just answered my own question. I looked up the 505 spray on the Odif website and it definitely states it washes out and cleans up with soap and water. No mention of dry cleaning. Funny, I always think of coming to the QuiltingBoard first!

I've read that on the can too. I also think that it says that it isn't water soluable. So I've never bought it.

For some reason what is written on the can makes me avoid it.

Yes, it washes out. One word of advice: If you have overspray, wash it off right away. The longer you wait, the harder it is to get off. This is from personal experience.

I've used 505 spray for years with no issues at all. It doesn't gum up needles, it's a temporary adhesive so you can re position your fabric if needed and it does wash completely out.

I've considered buying 505 spray too, but haven't yet because of the dry cleaning issue and I'm a bit worried about the chemicals in it. I don't really like the idea of spraying chemicals into a quilt and then needing to use more chemicals to wash it out.

be sure you buy the correct one. washes out easily for me.

I've used 505 for years with temporaily placing embroidery templates before KK2000 came out. Patsy Thompson states on her site she's used 505 for spray basting all her quilts, stays for a long time even if you haven't quilted yet. Yes it washes out, but if you're got over spray wash away quickly as the area will be sticky for a long time.
