I learned to use the computer at 75 and an now 81. I love my computer and spend way too much time on it. I tell everyone you can teach and old dog new tricks.

I'll be 76 this year. Have quilted for years and years.
Use the computer for a 'few' years"..but only for e-mail,this board, and to look up information. I don't know
how (and don't want to know how, unfortunately) to put
personal information on here, and I don't do "facebook".

I'll be 78 next month, and again I'm asking my kids for either a new Anti virus protection for my computer, a new Glock, or sky diving treat. Or maybe a hot air balloon ride. But most of the time my wildest actions are either trying to cut down that @%$^& Albizzia tree and it's decendenats, or going hiking in Yosemite Valley just a few miles by myself. Since my DH's been gone for over 4 years, friends and family have introduced me to several men...they have all been feeble old coots who can't keep up with me. They all seem to want one of two things. A 22 year old blonde bimbo on one arm, or else they want a life long nurse maid and I could look like I wore a mop on my head and pasted on Mr. Potato head features for all the attention they pay me...

I'm liking my life up to now, and hope it doesn't change that much. Got too much fabric that needs cutting apart and sewed back together and I want to paint the kitchen and.....

Not yet.

I bought my 86 year old aunt a computer and had email and internet set to gardening forums and blogs so it would be very simple for her. In a matter of weeks she had made friends all over the world sharing her knowledge of growing roses. She said she felt useful again to be sharing what she knew to others and learning new things too. No more lonely days for her and she doesn't have to leave her home to be social.

My mom, who is actually a member here, but isn't active on the board, is 86.

She just drove herself 3.5 hours from VA into NC to her greatgrandson's b'day party over the weekend. Mom quilts, volunteers long hours for the Red Cross doing blood drives, gives a small dinner party at least once a month, belongs to the local guild and works backing and basting the community quilts every month, is an activist in her senior-living complex (they don't maintain the landscaping to suit her and the club room is closed after 4pm!), AND she is giving up her land line for cell only, LOL!

I got my genes from Daddy's side. I hope she'll take care of me in my old age!!!!

75 and lovin it. I would quilt more but I spend to much time on the QB.Right now there are three quilts that the tops are done, one is sandwiched, the other two are hanging with a lot of quilt block waiting for attention. I have tried paper piecing and if I could get the hang of it In think I would love it. My favorite is to applique over any kind of background.
