My cutting table is 36 x 60. And I have a standard sized dining table that my Janome sits on.

Sounds very much like what I'm planning for my sewing room...out in the big middle of things so I can move all the way around it...not sure what height I'm going for so I don't have to bend over...just know my dining room table isn't tall enough for me.

Thanks for all your suggestions and encouragement to get it.

I need to measure all the cabinets and storage units I use for quilting/crafts, measure the area, and rearrange it on paper before we pick it up.

If I get rid of lots of things I've been saving...just in case I need it...KWIM? I should have no problem making a proper layout work.

Thanks

I have a 4' X 12' table in my sewing room. I store rolling sets of (plastic) drawers beneath it. It works just great; except I do find that it is easy for it to become a "drop off point" for everything that needs to be properly put away (i.e. newest fabric haul or fabrics I pulled out for possible use in a project). It is great for being able to stack project components in their respective groups. I always seem to have multiple projects running concurrently. I have the room arranged so that I can walk all around this table. I did plan the room very thoroughly on paper first. Good Luck and have fun!

Use 1/2 for a cutting table and cover the other half and use as an ironing table
