I just got to thinking.... dangerous.....

But for those of us who want to try the Spicy Swirl Tablerunner, but don't want to invest in that ruler, wouldn't it be possible to just mark the angle on our 6"x24" ruler with a piece of tape? I am thinking.... Even if the angle was slightly off, it wouldn't matter because we are not connecting the circle.

you could even make the ruler yourself out of plastic.

I wouldn't be afraid to try this, worse case scenario? you might come up with an even more interesting design :D:D:D

I finished my spiral tablerunner today. I used the 10degree wedge ruler and it worked great. There are lots of cuts and the thick plastic holds of great. I thought about using cardboard and I'm glad I didn't use it. You can certainly give it at try. Let us know what you decide to do.

This could also be a great use for chipped and knicked rulers... recut them to different angles :D:D:D

My DB can cut them, he has cut other plexiglass :D

We used to cut plexiglass all the time at work, we used a regular table saw. It's not all that accurate unless you're really good. And, you need the same angle on both sides which can be accomplished by one long cut as long as you slightly angle each end. While not all that difficult with the correct ruler there is a lot of cutting and measuring. I wouldn't even want to attempt it with something less than a real ruler. But, it doesn't take that much fabric and you might come up with something all together new. I say go for it.

Before I bought the ruler my hubby cut me one from cardboard but we didn' know what width to make top or bottom. I tried but couldn't get it to work when it came to putting them together hence buying one. I feel I will make use of it as there are patterns for angels and tree skirts which normally I would never try.
