These links to quilting acronyms are very helpful. I too can get lost on the content of the message!

I think abbreviations leave a lot to interpretation.
It can mean what the reader wants it to mean at the moment. Some of them tickle me. OBW is the hardest one for me to remember. I am just beginning to know it is one block wonder before I have to look it up. Some of them I just ignore. Question: Is there a reason we don't use our family names instead of DH (husband) DD (daughter) DS (son) and so on? Is there jeopardy in using their first name? |
I know what you mean by OBW. It always takes me a minute to consider the context in which it's used. To me it means Oh, By the Way. But, I guest that would be OBTW!?

The one that confuses me is SIL, because it has 2 meanings. Son-in-law and Sister-in-law. Sometimes when I'm reading a post, it doesn't make sense. Then I change the meaning - and it makes more sense!

It was awhile before I could understand what everyone was writing.

I thought DD was for Dumb Daughter! LOL
